Toyotas third generation Prius is now available with a new safety pack option, which includes LED low-beam car lights.
According to Toyota, the low-beam LED headlights give the Prius a “distinctive, premium appearance”.
“As well as being stylish, they last significantly longer than conventional halogen bulbs and high-intensity discharge lights,” a statement from the company said.
It went on to say that these lights come with integrated headlamp washers and an automatic dusk-sensing function.
Also included in the safety pack is a pre-crash safety (PCS) system and adaptive cruise control.
The latter uses a radar system to automatically adjust the vehicles speed to ensure it remains a set, safe distance from the car ahead.
PCS also uses radars, as well as lane detection cameras, to monitor the road ahead and detect the risk of a collision.
Earlier this month, Toyota announced that its Auris Hybrid had been named Car of the Year 2010 by What Green Car magazine.
