Prince Michael introduced to Vauxhall Ampera

Prince Michael of Kent has been introduced to the Vauxhall Ampera, which has boomerang-shaped car lights.
The all-electric vehicle arrived at Kensington Palace where instructions on how to operate the car were explained to the prince.
He was also informed about the Amperas ability to drive 350 miles on electricity alone and its impressive zero to 62 mph acceleration time of nine seconds.
Prince Michael then took the vehicle, which can reach a top speed of 100 mph, out for a spin.
“The prince soon returned from his drive, expressing how pleased he was with the ride and keen to discover if the car would also be available in black,” a statement from Vauxhall said.
It went on to say that it has high hopes that the vehicle, which is set to go on sale in the UK in 2012, will become the royal households electric car of choice.
Last month, the Ampera E-REV was driven in relay by a team of motorists from Vauxhalls home in Luton, Bedfordshire, to its passenger car plant in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, with enough power left to complete the journey all over again.
