Greater London has UKs most speed cameras

Greater London has 16 per cent of the UKs roadside speed cameras, which is more than Scotland, Ireland and Wales combined, new figures have shown.
RoadPilot, a supplier of GPS speed camera data, has revealed that those speeding in Greater London are, therefore, 100 times more likely to get caught than in other areas of the nation.
James Flynn, chief executive of RoadPilot, said that the extent of the difference in the number of speed cameras across the UK was “very surprising”.
The coalition government recently cut the road safety grant provided to local authorities by 40 per cent.
This is used to fund the installation and maintenance of speed cameras and pedestrian crossings, among many other road safety features.
“Britains speed limits remain the most heavily policed in the world and the recent cuts will only affect a tiny proportion of the countrys more than 5,500 speed cameras,” said Mr Flynn.
Do you think the government should have cut the road safety grant?
