Ipswich resident wins classic British sports car

A woman from Ipswich has realised her dream of owning a classic British sports car by winning one in a competition.

Stacey Biltcliffe, 49, has ditched her Ford Fiesta after winning the pristine TVR Tamora in a contest run by Avon Tyres.

She collected the keys to the 330bhp, 3.6-litre vehicle at the latest round of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship, at Silverstone yesterday (August 15th).

"I'd always said to the family that I'd treat myself to a sports car when the kids are older and that's exactly what has happened, but not in the way I thought it might," Ms Biltcliffe said.

She explained that she was in the passenger seat of a colleague's car when she first discovered that she had won the competition, and was glad she was not driving as she was so excited.

The competition to win the two-seater sports car ran from April 24th until July 31st.
