Renault renews partnership with Dame Ellen MacArthur

Posted by Fiona Birkwood

Renault has renewed its partnership with yachtswoman Dame Ellen MacArthur for a further three years.

The car company has been a partner to Ms MacArthur since 2001, but under its new contract, it has become one of the founding partners of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

This foundation aims to inspire people to re-think, re-design and build a more sustainable future for the nation.

It was launched yesterday (September 2nd) at the Science Museum in London, in the presence of Renault and a number of influential business, education and government leaders.

Renault is making efforts to help the environment by committing to launching its first four zero-emission electric road vehicles by the end of 2012.

Last month, Nissan's zero-emission vehicle – the Leaf – was successful in the 2010 Auto Express New Car Awards.

The vehicle picked up the coveted Special Award at the ceremony, which is given in recognition of the best new innovation in the motor industry.ADNFCR-2370-ID-800051591-ADNFCR
