In order to deal with the colder weather conditions of the winter months, people who own Volvo cars might be able to take advantage of a newly launched scheme.

Volvo Car UK has confirmed that its Winter Tyre Programme will be giving members of the public the chance to exchange their vehicles' current tyres for more winter-ready products.

The firm's after-sales manager Lee Berrell noted the impact that poor weather could have on stopping distances in particular.

He stated: "Volvo winter tyres cost no more than normal tyres, but they could stop you at shorter distances regardless of how bad the weather gets."

Volvo Car UK is making the scheme available to consumers as a result of January 2010's particularly poor weather conditions.

Earlier in the month, the organisation also revealed that the 150PS T3 ES model of its V60 sports wagon is due to be priced from £23,145.ADNFCR-2370-ID-800155552-ADNFCR
