Peugeot's 5008 has been voted Scottish MPV of the Year by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers.

The title was granted to the compact MPV at the annual Scottish Car of the Year Awards, which were held at St Andrews.

Ford's S-Max and the Mazda 5 were also short-listed, but were beaten to the top spot by Peugeot's offering.

Andrew Didlick, communications director at Peugeot, received the trophy on behalf of his company and said that "Peugeot is really on a roll at the moment".

"This award is further demonstration of the progress and appeal of our new products and comes significantly in the brand's 200th anniversary year," he added.

Last month, Peugeot added more features to the standard specification of its award winning 3008 Crossover's Sport and Exclusive models.

The two vehicles are also now available with a Euro 5 HDi 112 diesel engine, which is more fuel efficient than the engines previously on offer.ADNFCR-2370-ID-800231125-ADNFCR
