Ford S-MAX receives BusinessCar MPV of the Year award

Posted by Tom Benjamin

The Ford S-MAX has been awarded the title of BusinessCar magazine's Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) of the Year.

This is the fifth time that the magazine has given this award to the seven-seat vehicle, which was refreshed inside and out last year.

Paul Barker, editor at BusinessCar, said: "Ford's S-MAX has proved that family transport doesn't have to be bland to look at nor boring to drive, and the readers of BusinessCar obviously agree."

He went on to say that the recent changes to the vehicle have further enhanced its appeal.

The S-MAX is available with a 1.6-litre 115PS diesel engine with an automatic start/stop function as standard.

This means that the MPV produces only 139g of CO2/km and returns almost 50 mpg.

It is also available with a new premium 2.2-litre, 200PS TDCi engine, which returns 42.8 mpg and emits 174g CO2/km.

Last week, Ford announced that its Customer Relationship Centre had moved to a new facility neighbouring the Ford Parts Distribution Centre in Daventry, Northamptonshire.ADNFCR-2370-ID-800366707-ADNFCR
