David Beckham helps stranded motorist

Posted by Richard Sinclair

David Beckham came to the aid of a stranded motorist yesterday (February 9th) in Hertfordshire.

Paul Long was taking his son Fabien and daughter Josephine to school when his gearbox failed near to the Beckham's mansion in Ware.

He said that a car stopped and a man in a hoodie got out and came over to assist.

Mr Long did not realise at first that it was Beckham, but the footballer than removed his hood and it all became clear.

Beckham asked the motorist if he was OK and then helped to move the car off the road.

"When we'd pushed the car to safety … he asked if we were OK and I said: 'David Beckham, I love you, mate'," Mr Long told the BBC.

Last year, Mondial Assistance claimed that motorists can prevent breakdowns from occurring by carrying out regular vehicle checks, such as making sure that car bulbs are all working correctly.ADNFCR-2370-ID-800398272-ADNFCR
