BMW's Vision ConnectedDrive concept car is to make its premiere at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show next month.

This vehicle boasts an array of impressive features, such as front and rear car lights with integrated sensors that monitor traffic and the external environment.

These sensors then feed information directly to the driver allowing him or her to take appropriate action.

"It is with this concept that BMW presents the potential of current and future in-car technology for optimising comfort, safety and infotainment," a statement from the car manufacturer reads.

The vehicle has sliding doors that appear to disappear into the body of the car and a long wheelbase.

It also features a set back seating position, a long bonnet and "taut surfaces and distinctive flowing lines".

Ford recently announced that it is to unveil a novel collection of vehicle technologies and a brand new model at the Geneva Motor Show.ADNFCR-2370-ID-800398284-ADNFCR
