Last month witnessed an 8.9 per cent growth in the country's car production figures, according to one organisation.
Research released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has shown that the UK saw a total of 110,179 cars produced during the opening four-week period of 2011.
Exports accounted for 94,079 of these vehicles, while the home figure stood at a level of 16,100.
Chief executive of the SMMT, Paul Everitt, commented that these figures represent something of a "flying start".
He noted: "The encouraging figures demonstrate ongoing growth in global demand for the high quality vehicles and engines manufactured in the UK at some of the world's leading sites."
When it comes to car sales in the UK, Motorpoint figures recently suggested that in the next year, electric vehicles would be given some consideration by one in three of the drivers who were queried in a recent survey.
