Superfuels dont get you much further

So-called 'superfuels' are not worth the extra five per cent per litre that motorists shell out for them, a study has revealed.
What Car? magazine conducted research into the benefits of these premium fuels, which include BP Ultimate, Esso Supreme, Tesco Momentum and Total Excellium.
The publication found that these performed little or no better than their cheaper equivalents.
"Our tests show that premium fuels are an unnecessary expense with no major fuel economy benefit," said Steve Fowler, editor-in-chief at What Car?.
He went on to say that people would be more likely to get a greater amount of miles from every gallon by altering their driving style.
What Car? advised people to obey the speed limit or drive just below it, as this can make a vehicle around ten per cent more fuel-efficient.
Last month, road safety charity Brake said that increasing the speed limit on the UK's motorways would lead to more deaths and serious injuries on the roads.
