Those who own classic cars should check their insurance policies and ensure that they are covered if they take their vehicles abroad.
Insurance broker Footman James noted that only seven per cent of British motorists claimed that European-wide breakdown cover was at the top of their list of priorities when heading off on a road trip.
Some 29 per cent of those questioned by the company said packing their mobile phone was at the top of their list when going touring, while a further 18 per cent said putting their tools in the boot was their main priority.
Paul Matthews, Footman James' managing director, said: "As many classic vehicles will have been in hibernation prior to the touring season, it becomes increasingly important that owners have the right levels of breakdown cover in place should the unthinkable happen."
Later this year, hundreds of classic cars will be heading to Beaulieu for the Hot Rod & Custom Drive-In Day.

Well and concise information about the verification of insurance polices by classic car owners and the notation of Insurance broker Footman James as only seven percent of British motorists claimed that European-wide breakdown cover was at the top of their list of priorities when heading off on a road trip.
