Rospa supports international road safety campaign

Posted by Richard Sinclair

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents is encouraging people to support the international Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 campaign.

This urges all road users to take care and help to reduce the number of road accidents that take place across the world.

Organisers behind the campaign have designed a symbol that they hope will help to raise awareness for road safety, just as the red ribbon has done for HIV/AIDS and the white band has for global poverty.

The Road Safety Tag is a yellow diamond containing the name of the campaign in a circle.

"By wearing the tag you are demonstrating your support for the Decade of Action, and your personal commitment to be safe on the road," a statement on the campaign's website reads.

Last month, research from Santander revealed that Male motorists are twice as likely as women to crash their vehicles due to being distracted. ADNFCR-2370-ID-800519751-ADNFCR
