UK car registrations fell in April

UK car registrations fell in April

The number of cars registered in the UK fell by 7.47 per cent from April 2010 to the same month of this year.

This is according to figures published today (May 6th) by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

In total, some 147,779 cars were registered in the UK last month, with 124,876 of these being registered in England.

Some 12,825 were registered in Scotland, which is 19.78 per cent fewer than were registered in April of last year.

Northern Ireland was the UK country that saw the smallest number of registrations at 4,380, with 5,698 being registered in Wales.

So far this year, some 692,105 cars have been registered in the UK, which is 8.52 per cent fewer than had been registered by this time last year.

Last month, the SMMT revealed that the number of cars manufactured in the UK rose by 14.8 per cent in March.ADNFCR-2370-ID-800523166-ADNFCR
