Road safety event to take place in Devon

An event is taking place in Devon today (May 27th) with the aim of increasing safety on the area's roads.
Zak the Zebra, the mascot of national road safety charity Brake, is to make an appearance at the event.
It will be held at Charleton Church of England Primary School in West Charleton, Kingsbridge.
Local residents are to stage a protest, urging drivers to slow down on the A379, which is a busy road that runs through the village.
Rachel Perkins, executive head teacher of Charleton Church of England Primary School, said: "It is unbelievable the speed at which people drive past our school. It is a 20 mph zone and recently the police recorded speeds of over 40 mph through our small village."
Earlier this month, a survey conducted by the Institute of Advanced Motorists revealed that 70 per cent of drivers in the UK think the speed limit on the nation's motorways should be increased by at least 10 mph.
