Renault unveils Latitude with Bi-Xenon car bulbs

Renault has is to provide car fans with their first glimpse of its latest family saloon – the Latitude, which has Bi-Xenon car bulbs.

The vehicle will premiere at the Moscow Motor Show at the end of August and European motorists will also be able view it at the 2010 Paris Motor Show in October.

It has generous exterior dimensions of 4.89m in length, 1.83m in width and 1.49m in height.

The Latitudes distinctive Bi-Xenon adaptive directional front car lights flank the contours of the grille, while LED car bulbs are used in its rear lighting.

"Its rear design incorporates ample boot space and the new car can effectively claim one of the biggest boots in its class," a statement from Renault said.

Last month was the Renault Clios 20th birthday and, in celebration, the car company gave away 1,000 Clio 1.2 Extremes for just £7,450.

Other Clio fans got their hands on 20 romantic breaks to Paris and 1,000 copies of the £20 Mr & Mrs Smith French Hotel Collection guide.

Vauxhall sells over 55k Insignia models in 18 months

Over 55,000 Vauxhall Insignias, which boast Bi-Xenon car bulbs, have been sold in the UK in the past 18 months, the car company has revealed.

All Insignia models have an intelligent adaptive forward lighting system, which includes Bi-Xenon front car bulbs that can adapt to different road conditions using nine lighting functions.

The vehicles also boast daytime running lamps that use LED car bulbs, which benefit fuel consumption as they require considerably less electrical power than conventional low-beam headlamps.

According to Vauxhall, retail buyers account for 35 per cent of all sales from the Insignia range, which is 16 per cent more than buy the Vectra.

It also reported a significant increase in the number of upper-trim Insignias sold, such as the SRi, SE and Elite models.

Earlier this month, it was reported that a fleet of Vauxhalls Corsavan Sportive model, which has dark-style car lights, had been bought by Scottish solicitor estate agents firm Aberdein Considine.

Mercedes-Benz fans in with chance of driving new SLS AMG

Mercedes-Benz is offering fans the chance to experience its new super sports car, the SLS AMG, which boasts daytime driving lights with LED car bulbs.

Links to a number of entry forms for the prizes are hidden on the internet and out in the real world.

The experiences include hitting famous European racetracks such as Hockenheim and Spa in the 6.3-litre V8-engined, 571 hp SLS AMG.

Another lucky fan will experience being driven in the car by former Formula 1 and current DTM racer David Coulthard, while someone else will tackle the famous Top Gear test track.

Further prizes include unique SLS AMG driving days at Mercedes-Benz World.

Standard equipment of the vehicle includes Thermotronic luxury automatic climate control, Parktronic parking aid and the Comand APS multimedia system.

It also boasts Bi-Xenon car bulbs and an AMG performance steering wheel with a dynamic three-spoke design, silver-coloured aluminium shift paddles and a solid metal insert.

Citroen DS3 and New C3 to make Mobility Roadshow debuts

Citroens DS3 and the New C3 are to make their Mobility Roadshow debuts next month.

The vehicles will be on show as part of a major display of versatile transport solutions from July 1st to the 3rd at the keynote mobility event, which will take place at the East of England Showground near Peterborough.

Citroen will have a total of 14 vehicles on display including the award-winning C3 Picasso, C4 Picasso, Grand C4 Picasso, Nemo Multispace, Berlingo Multispace and C5.

The new Citroen C3 is not only available with car lights that turn on automatically when they sense decreasing visibility, but buyers can also choose to have rain-sensing windscreen wipers and an electronic stability programme.

Front fog lights, a panoramic Zenith windscreen, leather steering wheel and chrome window trims all come as standard with the VTR+ specification.

Back in April, Citroen unveiled the Metropolis, which has streamlined front car lights and a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.

Citroen DS3 named one of worlds coolest things

The Citroen DS3 has been named one of the coolest things in the world in a new poll due to its wide array of features, including front fog light bulbs and tinted car glass.

Stuff magazine included the vehicle in its annual index of the 15 coolest things on the planet, becoming the only car manufacturer to appear on the 2010 list.

The list puts the DS3 alongside a number of "groundbreaking" products such as Apples iPad, Dysons revolutionary bladeless fan and innovative technological advancements from augmented reality to the Hipstamatic iPhone app.

In the July issue of Stuff, the writers state: "The DS3 comes in a bewildering array of colour combinations. And, for what will surely be a limited time only, isnt as common as all the Minis we keep seeing on the roads. All that makes it the hip car to have."

It comes after Citroen revealed details about its new C4, which has dynamic new car headlight bulbs and will launch in the UK early next year.

Vauxhall improves 2010 Vivaro range

Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles has introduced a number of improvements across its Vivaro range, including new car lights for use in foggy conditions.

The Vivaro Sportive model boasts over £700 of extra features but costs the customer just £250 more than the previous model.

Standard equipment on this model now includes 16-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, body-coloured rear car light clusters and mirror housings.

Customers can also select a leather steering wheel and a new cruise control option.

All of the 2010 Vivaro models now have a new look fascia and steering wheel as well as a brand new infotainment system.

The colour range has also been extended with Steel Grey now available.

Back in April, Vauxhall was given an Allianz Genius 2010 award for its Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL+) car lights system.

Rita Forst, vice president of global vehicle engineering at Vauxhall, labelled AFL+ as the most advanced lighting system in the world.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta awarded Euro NCAP five-star rating

Alfa Romeos Giulietta, which has LED car bulbs, has been awarded Euro NCAP five-star rating.

The vehicle achieved an overall score of 87 out of 100, making it the safest compact on the market.

Its six airbags, which come as standard, helped the car to achieve this high rating as did its three-point seatbelts with double pretensioners.

The Giulietta also boasts self-aligning head restraints which lessen the effects of whiplash during an impact.

In terms of preventive safety, it also has headlamps with daytime running lights which turn on automatically when the engine is started.

The vehicles rear LED car bulbs produce a brighter light than conventional bulbs, providing extra visibility and, therefore, greater safety.

In terms of dimension, the car is 4.35m long, 1.46m high and 1.80m wide with a wheelbase of 2.63m.

Alfa Romeo fans got their first glimpse of the vehicle back in March when it was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

Toyota Auris hybrid to be built in UK

Toyota has reinforced its confidence in the UK motor industry by announcing that the Toyota Auris hybrid will be manufactured in Britain.

The model, which comes with new swept-back headlight bulbs and officially goes on sale on July 1st, will be produced at the Burnaston plant in Derbyshire in June.

Deputy managing director of Toyota Manufacturing UK Tony Walker explained: "Auris Hybrid is very important. It provides a great opportunity for us to increase production and for Toyota to increase sales, and it is a source of great motivation for everyone here."

He added that Toyotas strategy is to "progressively expand" full hybrid technology, with the goal of offering a hybrid version of all its models by 2020.

Recently, Toyota announced that owners of the 3.0-litre D-4D 4×4 Hilux, which has chrome-surrounded rear car lights, can now improve the performance of their vehicle thanks to a new product created by Unichip.

A fifth of cars will be sold online by 2015

Many motorists buy their car bulbs on the internet, but by 2015, one in five cars will also be purchasedonline, according to GForces.

The web management company for the automotive sector believes that, rather than going to a dealership to test drive the desired car then sign on the dotted line, motorists will increasingly read online reviews from trusted outlets, find the best price and then pay for their new car over the internet.

Tim Smith, commercial director at GForces, said: "People are more comfortable with purchasing large products online."

He went on to say that improving vehicle quality and extended warranties have made the test drive less important than it once was.

Those not seeking a new vehicle but looking on the internet for products that will keep their vehicles running smoothly and safely on the roads should consider purchasing replacement car bulbs.

The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 dictates that, by law, vehicles cannot be driven unless their car lights are functioning and clean.

Range Rover Sport TDV8 Ultimate launched in Europe

The Range Rover Sport TDV8 Ultimate has been launched in Europe, boasting Bi-Xenon car lights among its updated features.

It is available in just black or white with a chrome grille and side air vents.

The vehicle also benefits from dynamic response, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a sunroof, a heated windscreen, Bluetooth and 20-inch alloys, carsuk.net reports.

"We dont know yet if the UK will get the Range Rover Sport TDV8 Ultimate. Weve grabbed the details from Land Rover in Germany and weve had nothing from Land Rover in the UK," a piece on the website stated.

The writer warns that the vehicle "only" delivers 268bhp, whereas the new 4.4 litre TDV8 is set to produce at least 300bhp.

Later this month, the Range Rover will celebrate its 40th birthday.

Its second model line – Range Rover Sport – was launched in 2005 and became Land Rovers biggest selling vehicle worldwide in 2007.
