LED bulbs

LED bulb pictureLED bulbs are the new technology being used and developed more and more for various lighting applications in the motor industry. The reason for this is because they are brighter, more durable, longer life, instant response and use much less power than a standard filament bulb.

LED bulbs use less than 1W of power on average which reduces the power draw from the battery and in turn reduces fuel consumption. This also has great advantages in the world of boats and caravans! The higher durability and longer life of LED bulbs means less replacements and lower cost. The average life of the LED bulbs is about 30,000 hours. Effectively outliving your car and the next one, and the next one.

When LED bulbs are used in the stop and tail lights of the car the advantage becomes more significant. The response time of LED bulbs is instant. With a filament bulb it can take about 0.2 seconds to turn on. This 0.2 seconds may appear small but can reduce the stopping distance by 5 metres.

Another fantastic advantage of LED bulbs is the vivid colours they produce. They can produce a cleaner and defined colour than a coated filament bulb. We stock LED bulbs in white, red, blue green and yellow (amber).

LED bulbs are very versatile and have been produced for a wide number of interior and exterior applications. Some of these applications include stop and tail lights, indicator lights, sidelights, number plate lights, interior lights etc.

The other side to LED bulbs is the styling aspect. They have been used to great effect for enhancing the look of your car. The most common styling applications are under car kits, LED washer jets, LED rods for the foot well, chasing front grill lights (similar to K.I.T.T.).
