Which Type of Wiper Blade is Best?

This depends partly on your vehicle. However the flat aero style wipers have established themselves as the best type of wiper for most vehicles. We stock the market leading Bosch AeroTwin, Michelin Radius and Twenty20 AirFLO ranges

This flat aero design of wiper blade has the advantage of spreading the pressure points evenly across the whole wiper blade, rather than the 4 or 8 point standard metal blades. This allows for a much smoother, more even and quieter wipe.

Can I upgrade my standard metal wiper to a flat aero wiper blade?

Yes you can. Bosch, Michelin and Twenty20 all offer retro-fit U clips that allow you to convert your standard metal framed wiper to the more modern aero style.

Are brands such as Bosch worth it?

Buying a quality wiper blade is always worth it. Bosch have been the market leader in OEM wiper blade supply for many years, and deservedly so. You know when buying Bosch that you will get a wiper blade that works very well and lasts a decent time. Poor quality blades will break down much more quickly and you will be back buying more a lot sooner than you planned.

However, Bosch are not the only brand that make good wiper blades. Michelin, more commonly known for tyres, know rubber! Every 6-12 months on average.

Good quality wipers are tested to last 1-2 million wipes. However this is difficult to translate into the real world. Many factors can impact the life of a wiper blade such as weather, cleanliness of the windscreen, where the car is parked (e.g. under trees, facing the sun) etc. Under average circumstances should normally look to change your wipers every 6-12 months. However if you notice a significant reduction of performance, you should change them immediately.
